Create Your Own Jewelry

Creating jewelry can be a fun hobby with tangible results.  There are many different types of jewelry to make such as beading, metal casting, art clay molding, and chain mail.  You can make unique items for yourself as well as gifts for others.  Creating a beaded necklace or a silver ring for a loved one makes for a sentimental and personal gift.
The easiest type of jewelry making would be in the form of beading.  You would basically purchase beads, findings, and filament thread and put them together in various patterns and create a unique piece.  You could use wire instead of thread and with the help of jewelry pliers, twist your way into wirework.
Art clay is a newer form of jewelry making that originated in Japan as a way to create sterling silver jewelry without the many years of jewelry making studies.  Silver or gold is incorporated into clay so that you would basically sculpt your jewelry item, then fired or heated so that the clay burns away leaving the metal intact.  In this way, it would be similar to molding a clay item into becoming a stunning metallic item.
Metal casting is much more difficult jewelry making technique involving heating metal, pouring into molds and allowing it to cool to create different items.  A kiln would be the most probably heat source and then after creating your design, probably out of clay, you would make a mold of it so that you could pour the melted metal into the mold.  This is a much more original type of jewelry making as you can create your original design for molding and also the metal itself is one of your own making.  You would have to understand the nature of each type of metal to be able to know how to handle the metal mix.
Chain mail is created by way of interlocking metal rings into a pattern to create a woven type of covering.  Historically, it was used as armor as it was a form of textile that deflected the edges of weapons.  In modern times, it is used in accessories or jewelry, as well as period costuming for theatre or dress up.  Chain mail uses pliers and metal wiring with the process being to take the metal wire, cut a piece off, form into a circle.  Do this again with another piece of wire and then link the two rings together.

The many designs of the silver bracelet

There have been few accessories that have had a wider appeal than a simple silver bracelet. They are the current hot item that is sought after by all women, regardless of age, look or style preferences. This is mostly due to the fact that a piece of sterling silver jewelry looks good with any outfit. Another reason is the fact that it is much cheaper than alternatives like gold or platinum so that puts them in the price range of a much broader spectrum of people. As a result, demand for silver bracelets has never been higher. Of course, jewelry stores are more than happy to supply their customers with everything they want. Consequently, a variety of silver bracelet designs have reached new heights of popularity thanks to their commercial appeal.

Probably the most common is the classical charm silver bracelet. These pieces of sterling silver jewelry are characterized by the beautiful charms that dangle from the chains of the bracelets. The wide selection of charms makes it easy for a person to express their individuality with these silver bracelets, as well as their personal feelings and look on life. They are most worn by people who like to be considered fun, outgoing and expressive.

On the opposite side of the charm bracelet is the beaded silver bracelet. This one displays elegance and sophistication and it is often worn by the upper class with fancy and expensive outfits. These silver bracelets are very popular and can complement any outfit well. In fact, due to their popularity it is now common for other people to wear beaded silver bracelets and attach charms to them as well, making them a sort of hybrid between elegance and fun.

Tennis bracelets, as their name suggests, were brought into the public eye by tennis players. The look and design proved very popular with people all over the world and today this is one of the most successful designs of silver bracelets.

People that really want to stand out in a crowd can do that with a bangle silver bracelet. This large accessory is sure to attract some attention so that makes it ideal for women who are daring, a little crazy and like to be in the spotlight.

Whichever design someone decides to wear is an extension of their own personality. By choosing that particular silver bracelet they are conveying a message about how they perceive themselves.
